The wooden fence line is usually our first stop at Scouters Mountain and one of the easiest places to begin a session. It’s fully ADA accessible and offers a relaxed, open area with natural forest textures all around. The fence adds a fun visual element while still keeping things casual. It’s a great spot to warm up, move around, and capture natural moments right away.
Ferns
The fern-covered sections of Scouters Mountain Nature Park offer a soft, natural look with layers of greenery and filtered light. Located right off the main road area, this spot is easy to access while still feeling tucked into nature. When is the best time for photos at Scouters Mountain?
Late afternoon into early evening works best. The light filters softly through the trees and avoids harsh shadows. Morning sessions can also work well for a quieter feel.
Is this location ADA accessible?
Yes. Several areas near the parking lot, fence line, picnic area, and main road are ADA accessible. We can plan the session around easy-access spots if needed.
Is there a fee to shoot here?
No. There is no entrance or parking fee for Scouters Mountain Nature Park.
Where do we park?
Parking is available in the main lot. From there, most visitors walk up the hill to reach the picnic shelter area. ADA parking is available closer to the shelter for those who need it.
Are there restrooms available?
Yes. Public restrooms are located near the parking and picnic area. These make it easier to change outfits during your session without needing to leave the park.
What should I wear?
Neutral tones, earth colors, denim, soft whites, and layered textures photograph beautifully here. Comfortable shoes are recommended for walking between spots, and light jackets or sweaters add variety and flexibility.
What happens if the weather isn’t great?
